in the 160 lb class AJ Atoigue beat cayle williams with ease.

Looking at the 138-145 rankings Cortes Hernandez goes up to 145 at PAC coast loses in OT to Aaron Blaine from Hudson Bay who is ranked 6th at 145 but Cortes is only Ranked 8th at 138 ? Am I missing some thing was 138 a harder weight class at PAC coast than 145 ??

I was there and the 145 pound bracket was definitely stacked. Blaine was pinned in an earlier match. Cortes lost by a questionable takedown to Blaine. It could have gone either way. Then Blaine went on to lose to Sam Berry. 145 was definitely the toughest bracket of the tourney.

152 had a couple really tough guys. Sophomore Spencer Crawford pinned everyone until he ran into a brickwall in the finals. Gunnar is finally wrestling smart taking training seriously. I would have to agree 145 was the toughest though.

Why is Eric Soler ranked at 138 when he wrestles 145?

  Because he has wrestled at 138 already this year at the Clash. He wrestled the last tournament at 145 but lots of guys wrestle at different weights during the year and we rank at the lowest one we see them at. There are still many wrestlers ranked at a weight that is higher than what they will eventually be at come districts. I know some guys will be coming down and some will be going up. After districts the weights are all locked in. I now of many upcoming changes but I keep those to myself until they become public knowledge on the mat. Some teams don’t want to show their hand until districts. I respect that.

For 152 lbs. Charlie Eldred defeated Dylan Schmidt from Shadle Park in the 1st round of Tri State. Wrestled him again for 3rd and 4th. Charlie wrestled with a torn Ligament in his hand that he got from the last match on the first day. He would have done better if not injured. He also defeated Shane McMurray last year by decision. He’s placed 3 years at State in the Dome. Just received the Most Valuable wrester award at the Mid Valley Invite.

  Thanks for the info. I didn’t know ldred was from Reardon. The Tri-State brackets are great but use terrible team initials. I just rearranged my All-Class worksheet.
