With two matches to go and the score tied, Bellingham and Anacortes each
recorded pins, leaving the score tied 39-39 Thursday night at Bellingham.
Bellingham's Harrison Beven beat Dale Evans 11-5 in the 152-pound class to tie
the match at 33-33 before teammate Sam Davidson pinned Derek Brummer in 58
seconds to give the Red Raiders the 39-33 lead. Anacortes' Dan Backman pinned
Francois Desranlaou in 1:09 in the 171-pound division to end the dual in a
stalemate.
Bellingham, which fell to 1-4-1 overall, will wrestle at No. 1 Sedro-Woolley
Wednesday.

away in a tight contest with the Borderites to finish the regular season 5-4 -
the school's first winning season in several years.
Meridian finished the match with seven pins and one technical fall. The Trojans'
Brady Emmons notched the night's quickest win, pinning Blaine's Vahno Rehan in
17 seconds.
Meridian wrestles next Feb. 1 at its own tournament, the Great North
Invitational.

In a battle between freshmen, Ferndale's 125-pound Adam Gomez beat Seth Morgan
8-4. In perhaps the night's most exciting match, Ferndale's 112-pound David
Atwood beat Brad Hayes 4-3, avenging a loss to him earlier this season at the
Skagit Invitational.
Ferndale (5-3) will travel to Anacortes Thursday for its final regular-season
match.
