Prep wrestling — Chehalis tops Davis Invite
12-2-06 Chehalis won nine championships to dominate the Davis Invitational wrestling tournament Saturday. The Bearcats amassed 303 points to 191.5 for the runnerup Pirates. Wenatchee was third and Prosser was fourth. Davis claimed two titles with Zach Nalley winning at 112 pounds and J.J. Padilla taking top honors at 125. Benji Martin won the 189-pound title for Ike. WEST VALLEY INVITATIONAL: Toppenish's Jefferson Stancliffe won the title at 112 pounds and teammate Ruben Rios was the heavyweight champion in leading the Wildcats to a third-place finish at West Valley Junior High. Deven Stelter-Moorman (119) and Nick Gautreaux (140) won titles for the host Rams who finished eighth and Kellen Hopkins led sixth-place East Valley with the championship at 130.
