School Announcement:
The Arch Bishop Murphy Wrestling team continued it's strong start by winning
the Brian Hill Classic tournament at Eastside Catholic HS on Friday.
The Wildcats edged the host Crusaders by 12 points to earn the program's
first Varsity Tournament Championship in the history of the program.

Summary:
The Brian Hill Classic wrestling tournament was held at Eastside Catholic HS
in Newcastle on Friday December 29. Participating teams included host ECHS,
Archbishop Murphy, Skyline, Newport, Roosevelt, Ingraham, Lakeside, Evergreen,
and a lone representative from Virginia Episcopal Academy (who did well!)
Archbishop Murphy grabbed a 1 point lead at the end of the Second round and
were able to expand that lead slightly in the Third and Medal rounds to earn a
narrow 12 point lead over 2nd place Eastside Catholic for the Team Title.
Background
The AMHS wrestling program was founded in 2003 under Head Coach Blaine Smith
with Assistants Tom Tochterman, Joe Darnell and Andy Hughes. The program has
grown in numbers and quality over the 4 seasons and is enjoying it's most
successful start ever - including it's 1st varsity tournament Team
Championship in the Brian Hill Classic at ECHS. There is an informational web
