On December 28th 2010, a car accident occurred in Maple Valley that was fatal for only one passenger. Shelby Lee was 17 years old and full of life. She had been wrestling since the age of 8 under the careful watch of Ruben Navejas, Sr.. Shelby wrestled for Kent Junior wrestling club for 5 years, then moved on to middle school wrestling, and then to Kentridge High school wrestling team. Shelby was a 6 time USGWA state champion, and twice nationally ranked. She loved wrestling very much. Shelby had a loving and forgiving spirit which drew people in automatically. She had a love of animals and was planning on becoming a cosmetologist. The wrestling community will miss her greatly, as will her family.
