WIAA Releases 2012-13 State Broadcast Schedule
RENTON, Wash. – The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) in conjunction with PlayOn! Sports released the 2012-13 State Championship Broadcast Schedule, which features 15 sports and activities championships that will air on the WIAA Network.
The Network will produce the same coverage it provided last year, including cross country, girls soccer, girls swimming, football, cheerleading, wrestling, basketball, dance/drill, softball and baseball, and will add volleyball, semifinal football, bowling, boys swimming, boys soccer, gymnastics and forensics. The coverage of the WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington/Les Schwab Tires State Championships are free to view, and each of the events are archived on the Network website for on-demand viewing.
During the fall season, the WIAA Network will show a highlight package of cross-country, and then live footage of girls swimming, 2A volleyball, 3A, 4A soccer and semifinals and finals for football.
Selected events will air live on other broadcast and cable providers and will only be available on a delay basis on the WIAA Network in those local areas. The WIAA is currently in the second year of its contract with PlayOn! Sports. During the inaugural year, the WIAA Network aired 11 different sports and activities and reached the 100,000 unique visitor mark at the end of the Spring Championships. To date, the Network has over 167,000 unique visitors, spanning each of the 50 states and 97 different countries.
