How the team rankings are calculated for the WWR Rankings
Effective 1/16/12
The state team rankings are based upon a hypothetical state tournament with the final placings derived from the current individual rankings. Placing points are assigned for 12 places (4 places for B), plus advancement points, 2 pins for the 1st place winner and 1 pin for the 2nd place winner. Of course, actual state tournaments have variations in pins, but this method represents an average. We take the top 12 ranked guys in each division and assign the following points for current rankings:
4A through 1A is:
1st 27
2nd 22
3rd 18
4th 16
5th 13
6th 10
7th 8
8th 6
9th 3
10th 2
11th 1
12th 1
For Class B the points are 22, 16, 10, and 6.

Edmonds Woodway just beat Arlington in the last match of the season. Rankings don’t make any sense.
Trying to make sense of the new B rankings for 195, Ezra Miller from Life Christian was 2nd a few weeks ago, has won 2 tournaments, not lost to any B wrestlers, beat the Kalama kid you have ranked 6th and has beat 10 195 wrestlers from highers classes this year. Can someone help?
Why doesn’t WIlbur Creston Keller have 28 points? 160 first place = 22 and 220 4th place = 6
Hayden Hall Franklin Pierce sophomore beat #8 Larson at State last year as a freshman 8-3. Is undefeated this year so far at 160. Won the Washington patriot tourney last week. Will be wrestling 152 at Hammer head this upcoming week. Will be 145 post season. One to watch for.
